Harvest is Upon Us
 
Corn, Beans, Chilly Temperatures Mean Harvesttime
The corn and beans are browning, mornings greet us with a slight layer of frost on the ground, and in the air is the hum of combines and tractors at work, undertaking harvest.

We recently gathered all of our hard-working, loyal Sarah Horse Ridin'employees together for a luncheon.  The reason?  Five year old grandson Jamey began his first harvest season.  He spent long hours in the grain cart, in the combine, and tractors with various employees.  Occasionally he fell asleep, often he discussed the state of the world through a 5 year old's eyes, most of the time he just sat enjoying the whole process.  He has had the time of his life.  Sarah, at 3 years old, got to ride her first horse with Mike.  We're not sure the smile has left her face yet.  It was important to tell all the employees what a huge THANK YOU was on their minds.  Jamey even made cupcakes by himself, mostly anyway...
Wickedly Delicious Steaks
 
Broiled Sirloin Steak with Garlic Sauce
This recipe is sure to keep the vampires away!
Ingredients:
4 8 oz. Bell Creek Beef Sirloin Steaks
1 t. garlic powder
3 T. butter
3 T. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. A-1 Steak sauce

Directions: Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat, add garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and A-1 sauce. Stir till well mixed and heat to a boiling point. Meanwhile place the steak on the broiler pan. Remove the sauce from the heat as it reaches the boiling point and brush top of steak well, being sure that it is covered with sauce. Place 3 inches below heat and cook 5 minutes, turn and cover other side with sauce and cook 5 minutes.
